Getting to Whakapapa and Turoa Skifields
Tongariro Suites is ideally located between both ski field. You can decide in the morning whether to turn left or right.
Tongariro Suites is ideally located between both ski field. You can decide in the morning whether to turn left or right. by using the Ruapehu Alpine Lifts website. The page will show the weather conditions for each skifield, which ski lifts are operating and to check if the road to the parking areas are open.
If the road to Whakapapa or Turoa Skifield is not open, or only suitable for fourwheel drives and or needing snowchains, there are ski shuttles available from National Park Village and Ohakune, both approx 15 minute drive from Tongariro Suites.

If the roads are open please be aware of the booking parking system in place for the six key weekends from 31 July to 5 September 2021
This system is designed to help manage congestion and capacity over these key weekends. Life and Anytime Season Pass holders will not need to book parking at any time over the winter season.
